Leonard Carlitz (26 décembre 1907 à Philadelphie - 17 septembre 1999 à Pittsburgh) est un mathématicien américain.
Initiateur de l'arithmétique des corps de fonctions. Il introduit ce qui sera appelé par la suite le "module de Carlitz", premier des "modules de Drinfeld".
