Introduction
Le groupe Myth est spécialisé dans le déplombage de jeux vidéos, au même titre que le groupe DEViANCE par exemple. On distingue plusieurs moyens opératoires :
- le GameRip (GTA III par exemple), installation finale du jeu compressée au maximum. Au bout de plusieurs processus d'extraction, on retrouve le jeu original, inscriptions du registre comprises. Cependant, certaines cinématiques très lourdes sont supprimées. Le système de GameRip est de moins en moins utilisé, car la nécessité d'avoir un jeu peu lourd au téléchargement (De 100 à 300 Mo maxi) est de moins en moins présente.
- le Crack, sous forme de patch ou de lanceur de jeu.
- le keygen ou keygenerator, logiciel permettant de générer aléatoirement un numéro de série permettant d'installer la version originale du jeu. Une clé simple peut aussi faire l'affaire.
Bien qu'un peu moins actif ces derniers temps, le groupe Myth a développé des cracks pour de nombreux jeux (Star Wars Republic Commando, Age of Empires II, NFS Hot Pursuit 2, Car Tycoon, Delta Force etc.) et est très connu des joueurs inconditionnels...
