Mark Tompkins, né en 1954, est un comédien, danseur et chorégraphe américain de danse contemporaine.

Biographie

Formé au théâtre gestuel, Tompkins s'installe en France en 1973 et découvre la danse avec, notamment, Hideyuki Yano et Elsa Wolliaston. Il crée ses premiers solos en 1975 dans des lieux abandonnés et travaille avec Steve Paxton.

En 1983 il fonde la compagnie I.D.A (International Dreams Associated) et remporte le concours de Bagnolet l'année suivante.
