Anticatholicisme

L'anticatholicisme désigne l'opposition, la méfiance, l'hostilité, la discrimination, la répression, ou la persécution du catholicisme ou des catholiques. Bien qu'il camoufle parfois d'autres intérêts (politiques, économiques, sociaux ou nationaux), l'anticatholicisme est particulièrement fréquent dans les pays qui ont adopté la Réforme protestante au XVIe siècle et qui ont connu des guerres de religion.
