Le Méprobamate, commercialisé en France sous le nom Equanil, fait partie de la famille des carbamates primaires. Il est utilisé pour ses propriétés myorelaxante (relâchement musculaire) et anxiolytiques, notamment pour le sevrage alcoolique. Mais dans cette dernière utilisation il a été supplanté par les Benzodiazépines.
