Nahal

Nahal (hébreu : חטיבת הנח"ל ou נח"ל) est une unité de l’infanterie de Tsahal, comprenant plusieurs sous-unités :

  • une formée exclusivement de fantassins, la sous-unité 931 et la sous-unité 932 ;
  • une spécialisée dans les parachutages, le régiment 50. Elle libéra en 1967 la vieille ville de Jérusalem avec la collaboration des parachutistes. Les soldats du 50e régiment sont sélectionnés après des tests physiques ;
  • une de patrouilles, le commando Palsah ; spécialisée dans le combat anti-terroriste ;
  • une de repérage, le commando Orev ; spécialisée dans le missile « orev » ;
  • une d’ingénierie, le commando Palhan ; spécialisé dans le déminage.

Ces trois unités sont des unités d’élite dont le but est d’arrêter des terroristes.

Ses incorporés sont spécialisés dans les entraînements d’hiver et d’été, dans l’infiltration à l’intérieur des lignes ennemies et dans le repérage des poches de terrorisme.

Les sous-unités 931, 932 et le 50e régiment sont destinés à la défense et à la sauvegarde du territoire israélien.

L’incorporation au sein du régiment 50 parachutée se fait avant l’intégration dans l’armée.
