Archentéron
L'archentéron est le nom donné à l'intestin primitif, c'est-à-dire à la première cavité qui traverse l'embryon en cours de développement tout en étant ouverte sur l'extérieur. Formé au cours de la gastrulation, il est entouré de l'endoderme nouvellement formé et deviendra l'appareil digestif de l'organisme. Si l'archentéron donne prioritairement lieu à la formation de la bouche on parle d'organisme protostomien, à l'inverse s'il ouvre sur l'anus on parle de deuterostomien . L'homme est un deutérostomien.
