Refroidissement à huile

Le refroidissement à huile est un système de refroidissement de matériel informatique à base d'huile alimentaire.

Principe de fonctionnement

Le refroidissement à huile est un méthode de refroidissement permettant de refroidir silencieusement (c'est-à-dire sans ventilateur ou pompe ) tous les composants d'un ordinateur. Le boîtier, préalablement rendu étanche afin d'éviter les fuites, est rempli d'huile alimentaire, ce liquide n'étant pas conducteur électrique. L'huile permet de dissiper la chaleur dégagée par les composants.
Des dispositifs supplémentaires peuvent être rajoutés afin d'améliorer le refroidissement (en dépit du silence), tels que des ventilateurs (pour mieux dissiper la chaleur de l'huile dans l'air ambiant), ou une pompe pour permettre la circulation de l'huile.
