Un Peep show est, en anglais, un spectacle vu à travers une ouverture.

En français cependant, cela désigne plus spécifiquement des spectacles érotiques ou pornographiques (striptease, scènes à caractère sexuel). Certains bars proposent ce genre de spectacles, ainsi que des sex-shop.

En anglais, le sens est plus large et désigne un spectacle (vivant ou photographique) vu à travers une ouverture pour un seul observateur à la fois (d'ailleurs peephole en anglais désigne notre judas optique et le peephole kinetoscope désigne le kinétoscope, un ancêtre du cinématographe).
