Philistie

La Philistie est un État fondé par les Philistins (un des peuples de la mer) vers 1200 avant l'ère chrétienne et situé sur la côte méditerranéenne autour des villes de Gaza et Ashkelon. C'était une confédération de villes puis un royaume au XIe siècle avant l'ère chrétienne. Ils furent en conflit avec le royaume d'Israël.
