Plato Cacheris est un avocat américain très connu.
Il est le fils d’un émigré grec. Il a grandi à Washington DC et à Pittsburgh en Pennsylvanie. En 1951, il s’engage dans l’ US Marine Corps comme candidat officier, mais il en sort en 1953 quand il rentre à la faculté de droit. Il a reçu son diplôme de l’Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service de l’ Université de Georgetown et de La Faculté de Droit de la Université de Georgetown en 1956.
