Robert Devereux (3e comte d'Essex)

Robert Devereux (11 janvier 1591 - 14 septembre 1646), 3e comte d'Essex était le fils et héritier de Robert Devereux, 2e comte d'Essex.

Il a succédé au titre de comte d'Essex de son père en 1601, après que celui-ci fut décapité pour cause de trahison. Sa mère était Frances Walsingham, la fille unique de Francis Walsingham, le maître-espion d'Élisabeth Ire.

Il a été Lord Chamberlain de 1641 à 1642.

La Self-denying Ordinance a mis fin à sa carrière militaire en 1646. Il est mort la même année.
