Sean May, né le 4 avril 1984 à Chicago est un joueur américain de basket-ball évoluant au poste d'ailier fort. May joue pour le Fenerbahçe Ülker, en première division turque.

Il grandit à Bloomington dans l'Indiana. Il fait partie 3 fois de la sélection des meilleurs joueurs de lycée de l'état alors qu'il était au Bloomington North Hight Schoom, sélection avec laquelle il a d'ailleurs été coéquipier du joueur NBA Jared Jeffries. Il décide ensuite de rejoindre l'Université de Caroline du Nord à Chapel Hill, surprenant alors tous ses observateurs qui pensaient le voir rejoindre une faculté de l'Indiana.

À North Carolina, May s'avère rapidement être un pion essentiel, intégrant le 5 majeur de 2003 à 2005. Lors de son année junior, il est élu MVP du tournoi final NCAA 2005 après avoir mené les Tar Heels à leur 4e titre national[1].

En avril 2005, il annonce qu'il renonce à sa saison senior et se présente à la draft NBA 2005. Il est choisi en 13e position par les Charlotte Bobcats, et fait donc partie des 4 joueurs de UNC choisis lors de cette même draft (un record pour une même université).

Fin juillet 2009, il signe un contrat d'un an minimum avec la franchise californienne des Sacramento Kings pour $884,881[2]. En novembre 2010, il est transféré par Fenerbahçe- Istanbul / Turquie.
