Sion 2006 était le nom de la candidature du canton du Valais aux Jeux olympiques d'hiver de 2006.
Adolf Ogi était le président de cette candidature (du 29 août 1998 au 19 juin 1999). La candidature valaisanne était la favorite à la course pour l'obtention des Jeux d'hiver, car la commission d'évaluation du Comité international olympique l'avait mise, après analyse de tous les dossiers de candidatures, en tête de liste. De plus le magazine Sport Intern classait Sion comme meilleure candidature devant Helsinki, Turin, Klagenfurt, Propad-Tatry et Zakopane.
Mais le 19 juin 1999 à 7 h 30 (heure suisse), à l'Hôtel Shilla de Séoul, le président du CIO Juan Antonio Samaranch annonça la victoire de Turin sur Sion par 53 voix contre 36 pour la candidature suisse.
