Southern Christian Leadership Conference

La Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) est une organisation américaine des droits civiques créée en janvier 1957.

Elle a joué un rôle important dans le mouvement des droits civiques des années 1950 et 1960.

La SCLC a été étroitement associée à son premier président, Martin Luther King.

Ses principes sont la lutte pour les droits civiques dans un esprit de non-violence chrétienne.

L'organisation a été fondée par des activistes noirs des droits civiques, qui entendaient fédérer les responsables religieux du sud des USA. Le premier nom fut Southern Leadership Conference on Transportation and Nonviolent Integration, assez rapidement simplifié en Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

L'organisation est toujours active.
