Stratford-upon-Avon est une ville du centre de l'Angleterre où William Shakespeare est né en 1564. Cette ville compte 23 676 habitants. La ville est à proximité d'Oxford, elle est dans le comté du Warwickshire.

La ville abrite un théâtre réputé en Angleterre, le « Swan Theatre ». La troupe d'acteurs « Royal Shakespeare Company » est originaire de la ville, et s'y produit encore régulièrement.
