Stuart Dischell

Stuart Dischell (né en 1954 à Atlantic City) est un poète américain.

Il a suivi ses études à l'université d'Antioch (Licence en Arts) et au sein du "Writers workshop" de l'université d'Iowa, d'où il est ressorti avec un Master en Beaux-Arts de la Poésie.

En 1988, il publie "Animate earth", paru aux Editions Jeanne Duvall en édition limitée.

En 1991, son livre "Good hope road" (publié en 1993 – Editions Viking Penguin) lui a valu d'être sélectionné pour le "National Poetry Series".

"Evening and avenues" paraît en 1996, dans la série "poètes" des Editions Penguin.

"Dig Safe" est paru en avril 2003, toujours aux Edition Penguin, ainsi que son dernier livre "Backward days, publié en octobre 2007.

Son travail a été récompensé par plusieurs prix et nominations tels que le "Daniel Varoujan Award", (Club de poésie de Nouvelle-Angleterre, 1988), le "National Poetry Series" (1991), le "Pushcart Prize" (1994), le "Alan Collins Fellow" (Bread Loaf Writers Conference, 1995), le "National Endowment of the Arts Fellowship"(1996),le "North Carolina Arts Fellowship" en 2001 et le "John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship" (2004)[1]”.
