The Brigades

The Brigades est un groupe parisien de punk rock qui fut actif de 1982 à 1989. Un des groupes fondateurs de la scène dite rock alternatif. On lui préfère aujourd'hui le terme rock indépendant.


Le groupe a créé le label indépendant Rock Radicals Records en 1982 afin de produire son premier 45T, auto-financé. Il y a eu deux formations dans l’histoire du Groupe.

À partir de 1985, certains des membres du groupe l'ont quitté pour fonder Bondage Records avec Marsu, label qui allait compter Bérurier Noir parmi ses artistes.

Après avoir perdu notamment deux de ses fondateurs, Kid Bravo (de son vrai nom Jean-Yves Prieur, devenu depuis Kid Loco) et François, The Brigades continue avec V Dialectics et Chatterton pour une nouvelle formation et fonde le label Negative Records. De 1982 à 1989, le groupe réalise de nombreuses tournées en France et en Europe, chantant en anglais des textes de V. Dialectics. Le groupe a joué en France, Suisse, Angleterre, Allemagne, Pologne, Écosse, et avec de nombreux groupes comme : The Redskins, Subhumans, Kortatu, UK Decay, Red London, B Call, Dirty District, Haine Brigade, Newton Neurotics, Attila the Stockbroker (John Oposition), etc.

  • Guitare : Kid Bravo (Jean-Yves) de 1982 à 1985, puis Cleaz (Franck) jusqu'en 89.
  • Bass : Saveriu Chatterton (Xavier).
  • Lead vocal : V. Dialectics (Vlad).
