The Faint est un groupe de rock indépendant américain formé à Omaha, Nebraska. Les membres du groupe sont Todd Fink (chant, clavier), Jacob Thiele (clavier), Dapose (guitare), Joel Petersen (basse), Clark Baechle (batterie).

Biographie

Le premier nom du groupe était "Norman Bailer", en référence à Norman Mailer. Il incluait alors dans ses membres Conor Oberst, du groupe Bright Eyes, avec qui The Faint a tourné en 2005. Le groupe est d'ailleurs signé sur le label Saddle Creek Records, créé par Conor et Justin Oberst. Le guitariste Dapose était à l'origine le guitariste du groupe de death metal Lead.

La musique de The Faint est proche de l'electro rock, mélangeant des guitares rageuses avec la froideur des synthétiseurs, et utilisant beaucoup la deformation electronique sur la voix du chanteur.
