The Proclaimers est un groupe de musique écossais originaire de Auchtermuchty et se compose de jumeaux, Charlie et Craig Reid (nés le 5 mars 1962). Ils sont notamment célèbres pour leurs titres Letter from America, I'm on My Way et I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles).

Utilisations de leurs chansons dans des films et séries

Dans How I Met Your Mother, la chanson "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" est celle que l'on entend se répéter sans cesse dès que Marshall démarre sa voiture, ce dernier ayant coincé la cassette de l'album de ce groupe dans l'autoradio. On retrouve aussi cette chanson dans "Benny & Joon", un film avec notamment Johnny Depp.

Dans Shrek, leur chanson I'm On My Way, est utilisée lors du voyage jusqu'au château du dragon dans le premier opus.

Pour son dernier jour de tournage dans la série Doctor Who, David Tennant a fait une vidéo avec toute l'équipe de tournage et The Proclaimers sur leur chanson "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)". En effet, l'acteur est l'un de leur plus grand fan.
