The Turtles est un groupe californien de musique pop rock, rock psychédélique et folk. De 1961 à 1965, le groupe s'est appelé successivement The Nightriders puis The Crossfires avant d'opter finalement pour The Turtles. La plus célèbre de leurs chansons est Happy Together, qui détrôna en 1967 Penny Lane des Beatles de la première place dans les charts américains.
Le groupe connut d'autres nombreux succès tels qu'Elenore ou des reprises de Bob Dylan comme It Ain't Me Babe (titre qui se classa 8e aux États-Unis)
