Historique

Il est épuisé en disque vinyle et reste un des seuls (avec Journey Through the Past) albums de Neil Young non édité en CD. Disponible dans certains circuits parallèles, il est aujourd'hui l'un des albums les plus recherchés de Neil Young.

Un groupe de fans a lancé une pétition en 2005[1] dans le but d'obtenir une diffusion plus large d'un disque qu'ils considèrent comme essentiel. Au 13 octobre 2008, celle-ci recueillait plus de 96 880 signatures.

L'album constitue le premier volet d'une trilogie sombre et désespérée, dont les deux autres sont les classiques Tonight's the Night et On the Beach[2].
