Anthony "Tony" Williams est un batteur de jazz et de Jazz-rock américain né à Chicago, Illinois, le 12 décembre 1945 et décédé le 23 février 1997 en Californie. Remarqué très jeune par Miles Davis, il a fait partie à 17 ans de son fameux "second grand quintet" (1965-1968) avec Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter et Wayne Shorter (quintet reformé en 1976 par Herbie Hancock sous le nom de VSOP, Freddie Hubbard remplaçant Miles).

Il est considéré par certains comme l'un des plus grands virtuoses de la batterie, avec son aîné Elvin Jones. Parlant de lui dans son autobiographie, Miles le décrit comme le centre autour duquel gravite le son de son quintet. Herbie Hancock lui dédia une chanson posthume dans son album Future2future en utilisant une ancienne piste enregistrée.
