Aïta ach-Chab (عيطا الشعب) est un petit village du Sud Liban proche de 900 m de la frontière avec Israël.

Conflit israélo-libanais de 2006

Le 12 juillet 2006, un accrochage entre combattants du Hezbollah et soldats de l'armée israélienne a lieu proche Aïta ach-Chab. La bataille provoque la mort de huit soldats israéliens et deux soldats sont capturés.

De forts combats se sont déroulés dans la ville et au moins neuf soldats israéliens ont été tués. Le village, pourtant très petit et très proche de la frontière, a résisté aux offensives israéliennes et est devenu un symbole de la résistance libanaise.
