Le Troglodyte familier (Troglodytes aedon Vieillot, 1809) est un passereau appartenant à l'ancienne famille des Troglodytidae actuellement incluse dans celle des Certhiidae.

Il se rencontre exclusivement sur le continent américain, depuis le 60e parallèle nord jusqu'à la terre de Feu[1].
