La United States National Radio Quiet Zone (traduction littérale : Zone américaine nationale de silence radio) est une vaste zone entourant l'Observatoire de Green Bank.

C'est un rectangle d'environ 33 000 kilomètres carrés. Il se trouve à cheval sur la Virginie et de la Virginie-Occidentale. Cette zone a été choisie en raison de sa topographie unique qui bloque la plupart des ondes radio, permettant à l'observatoire de se trouver dans une zone de silence.

Elle a été définie par la Federal Communications Commission en 1958 pour protéger les radiotélescopes de l'observatoire. Les transmissions omni-directionnelles et/ou de forte puissance sont fortement restreintes, de manière à éviter de saturer les amplificateurs des télescopes.

Cette zone protège aussi les antennes et les récepteurs de l'US Navy Security Group Activity, basé à Sugar Grove.
