William Collins Whitney (1841 - 1904) était un homme politique et un grand financier américain, il était le patriarche de la Famille Whitney. Il était membre du Parti Démocrate duquel il était considéré comme un Démocrate Bourbon du fait de ses positions conservatrices.
Sous l'Administration Cleveland (1885-1889) il fut Secrétaire à la Marine des États-Unis.
