William F. Albright est un archéologue américain (24 mai 1891 - 19 septembre 1971) qui un des premiers chercheurs de renommée mondiale à authenfier les parchemins retrouvés près de la Mer Morte en 1947. Albright, qui était professeur émérite en langues sémitiques de l'Université Johns Hopkins depuis 1958, fut l'auteur d'un nombre considérable d'ouvrages, incluant From the Stone Age to Christianity (1940-46).
