Avatar: Music from the Motion Picture est l'album du film de science fiction en relief Avatar, réalisé par James Cameron. La partition originale et les chansons ont été composées, co-orchestrées et conduites par James Horner. L'album éditon deluxe, sorti le 19 avril 2010 pour promouvoir la sortie en DVD du film^[1].

Information

Le compositeur James Horner a marqué le cinéma, sa troisième collaboration avec Cameron, après Alien et Titanic^[2]. Horner a enregistré les parties de la partition avec un petit chant de choral dans la langue Na'vi en Mars 2008^[3]. Il a également travaillé avec Wanda Bryant, un ethnomusicologue, pour créer la musique de la culture de la race extraterrestre. Horner utilisa les conseils de son assistant et ils ont mis une quantité inhabituelle d'instruments virtuels dans ce projet. Les première séances d'évaluations ont été planifiées au printemps 2009^[4]. Leona Lewis a chantée la chanson "I See You". Une piste bonus appelée "Into the Na'vi World" est disponible exclusivement par l'intermédiaire du site officiel^[5]. Elle n'a pas été inclus sur les versions physiques et numériques de la bande sonore.

Nominations

L'album a été nominé pour la meilleure bande originale à la 82e cérémonie des Oscars, mais perdu face à Là-haut. "I See You" a été nominé pour un Golden Globe dans la catégorie de la Meilleure chanson originale pour la 67e cérémonie des Golden Globes.

The album has also charted on the Billboard 200 album chart on the week of January 2, 2010, debuting at number 172. The following week it climbed the chart to gain a new peak at number 119, and then the following week it leaped to number 32. On the week of January 23, 2010 the soundtrack hit its current peak at number 31.
