Courtenay Edward Stevens

Courtenay Edward Stevens, 1905-1976, est un historien anglais, spécialiste de l'Antiquité. Il fut enseignant à l'université d'Oxford (Magdalen College).

Outre sa bibliographie, il est connu pour avoir été l'un membre de l'Inklings, "un cercle littéraire informel lié à l'université d'Oxford, actif dans les années 1930 et 1940", et qui possédait comme participants célèbres C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien ou encore Charles Williams. C'est d'ailleurs C. S. Lewis qui proposa de l'intégrer, en Novembre 1947. Au sein du cercle, il possédait le surnom de Tom (ou Tom Brown).
