Originellement nommé Calodactylodes illingworthi en l'honneur de Margaret et Percy Illingworth, il semble que le respect de la grammaire latine impose de nommer cette espèce de gecko Calodactylodes illingworthorum (d'après Bauer & Das, 2000).
