Sommaire
Synopsis
Ce jeu s'inspire de La Divine Comédie, célèbre poème italien du XIVe siècle, écrit par Dante Alighieri. Comme dans l'œuvre littéraire, le héros de ce jeu vidéo va descendre dans les cercles de l'enfer afin de retrouver Beatrice.
Durant la troisième croisade, Dante a assisté à d'énormes atrocités qui lui ont fait perdre la foi en Dieu. Dans la ville d'Acre, Dante doit garder des prisonniers de Saceren pour le roi Richard Ier d'Angleterre.
Système de jeu
C'est un beat them all. Il y a 2 finishs différents pour tuer les ennemis : soit les absoudre, soit les punir, ce qui oriente Dante en bien ou en mal.
God of War est clairement la source du système de jeu selon Jonathan Knight[1].
La croix est une de ses armes.
Controverse
En juin 2009 à Los Angeles, treize personnes ont protesté contre le jeu au nom de la religion. Ils affirmaient que la société Electronic Arts était l'Antéchrist et que l'enfer n'était pas un jeu[2].
