Battersea Park

Battersea Park est un espace vert d'une surface de 83 hectares, situé à Battersea, Londres, sur la rive sud de la Tamise, face au quartier de Chelsea. Il a été ouvert en 1858.

Histoire

Battersea fields, comme le parc était autrefois connu, était un lieu populaire pour les duels.

La conception originelle du parc a été menée par James Pennethorne entre 1846 et 1864, même si le parc tel qu'il a ouvert en 1858 différait de sa vision.

Installations présentes dans le parc

Le parc contient un petit zoo, un lac sur lequel on peut faire du bateau, un kiosque à musique, ainsi que plusieurs installations sportives extérieures telle que des courts de tennis, des terrains de football et une piste de course.

Le parc abrite également la "Pagode pour la Paix" (Peace Pagoda), érigée en 1985.
