The Jean Genie est une chanson de David Bowie sortie en single en septembre 1972, avec Ziggy Stardust en face B, puis en avril 1973 sur l'album Aladdin Sane.

Le titre de la chanson The Jean Genie était, selon Bowie, « un jeu de mots maladroit sur Jean Genet »[1].

Le nom du groupe de rock/new wave écossais Simple Minds est inspiré des paroles de cette chanson "He's so simple minded he can't drive his module".

Mick Rock a réalisé un clip pour la chanson.
