János Baranyai (né le 24 juin 1984 à Oroszlány, Hongrie) est un haltérophile hongrois et un ancien lutteur de judo.
Il a participé aux Championnats du monde 2006 et Championnats du monde 2007 dans la catégorie 77 kg, se classant 33e dans les deux évènements.
Le 13 août 2008 aux Jeux Olympiques d'été 2008 à Beijing, en Chine, Baranyai a subi une luxation du coude en tentant de soulever 148 kg chez les hommes 77 kg arraché.
Après une reprise de deux ans et la période de formation, Baranyai retourne à la concurrence internationale d'haltérophilie, participant à la fois aux Championnats européen 2010 à Minsk et les Championnats du monde 2010 à Antalya. À ces deux événements, il a concouru dans la catégorie 85 kg, et a terminé dans les endroits les 7e et 15e, respectivement
