Maryanne Amacher (25 février 1938 - 22 octobre 2009) était une compositrice américaine et une artiste d'installation.
Biographie
Elle est née à Kane en Pennsylvanie. Elle grandit en apprenant le piano. Elle apprit la composition avec George Rochberg et Karlheinz Stockhausen à l'université de Pennsylvanie. En 1967, elle créa City Links: Buffalo, une pièce de 28-heures en utilisant 5 micros dans différentes parties de la ville, diffusé en direct par la station de radio WBFO. Ses œuvres majeures ont à peu près exclusivement été des installations, donc spécifiques à un lieu. Elle travailla par extension sur le phénomène physiologique (et non psychoacoustique) appelé émission otoacoustique.
