Mutual Broadcasting System

La Mutual Broadcasting System (MBS) est une radio américaine aujourd'hui disparue, qui émit de 1934 à 1999. Parmi les quatre réseaux nationaux de radio américains de l'époque, la Mutual est celle qui pendant des décennies détennait le plus grand nombre de filiales mais dont la situation financière était la plus incertaine. Durant l'age d'or de la radio américaine, caractérisée par la diffusion de nombreuses fictions radiophoniques, la Mutual est restée célèbre pour avoir diffusé en exclusivité les séries The Lone Ranger et Les Aventures de Superman, et avoir également diffusé durant plusieurs décennies The Shadow. Elle a retransmit plusieurs années durant les matchs de la Major League Baseball américaine, et notamment le Match des étoiles et les séries mondiales. Du milieu des années 1930 et pendant des décennies, la MBS possédait un service d'information de qualité, avec des émissions d'actualité populaires. Elle a popularisé le journaliste américain Larry King.
