Norman Alfred Williams Lindsay (23 février 1879- 21 novembre 1969) était un artiste et ecrivain australien .
Lindsay est né à Creswick, Victoria. C'était un artiste prolifique: sculpteur, auteur, réalisateur de dessins animés, éditorialiste, ainsi que boxeur très doué.
Auteur et illustrateur d'un livre pour enfants Le Gâteau magique (1918), qui est un des plus populaire de la Littérature australienne et qui était le sujet d'une film en 2000 avec John Cleese et Geoffrey Rush[1]. Lindsay était en même temps peintre de nus aux formes franches et somptueuses qui ont été fortement contestés. Cet aspect de sa vie a été le sujet d'un film, Sirènes sorti en 1994, avec Sam Neill et Elle MacPherson.
Springwood, la maison et les jardins de Lindsay, situé à Faulconbridge dans les Blue Mountains est maintenant une galerie et un musée de la National Trust of Australia[2].
