Berne est une localité du comté d'Albany (New York), dans l’État de New York, aux États-Unis. Sa superficie est de 167,7 km² (64,8 mi²). Elle comptait 2 846 habitants en 2000. Densité : 17,1 hab/km² (44,4 hab/mi²). Coordonnées géographiques : 42°37′31″N 74°08′00″O / 42.62528, -74.133333.
Histoire
C’est avant 1750 que les premiers colons s’installent. À l’époque, ce lieu se nomme Beaver Dam (aussi orthographié Beaverdam), « le barrage du castor ».
La ville de Berne (orthographiée d’abord « Bern ») est fondée en 1795. Elle faisait partie avant cela de la cité de Rensselaerville. En 1822, la moitié nord de Berne devient la ville de Knox.
