Psathyrella est un genre de la famille des Psathyrellaceae, champignons basidiomycètes. Genre d'environ une centaine d'espèce, ils sont semblables phylogénétiquement aux genres Coprinellus et Coprinopsis, et proches morphologiquement des Coprinus et Panaeolus. Le genre est actuellement en révision (2011), la classification phylogénétique démontrant une distorsion avec la classification linnéenne. Ces champignons sont souvent ternes. Difficiles à identifier et non comestibles, ils sont souvent considérés comme inintéressants. C'est pourtant la première recherche connue où les lames de l'hyménium du sporophore se développent sous l'eau: Psathyrella aquatica^[1].
