Dénomination

Betting portait jusqu'au 12 septembre 2005 le nom de Betting-lès-Saint-Avold. La nouvelle dénomination a été officialisée par le décret n°2005-1155 du 12 septembre 2005 portant changement de nom de communes (NOR : INTA0500236D) publié au Journal officiel no 215 du 15 septembre 2005 page 14945.
