La Reserve Bank of India (RBI, hindi : भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक)) est la banque centrale de l'Inde[1]. Elle a été fondée le 1er avril 1935 selon les termes du Reserve Bank of India Act (1934). Les bureaux chefs ont été initialement établis à Kolkata, mais ont été déplacés à Mumbai en 1937. Société privée à l'origine, l'institution a été nationalisée par le Gouvernement de l'Inde en 1949.
