Return to Forever (1972) est un album du pianiste de jazz Chick Corea et de son groupe Return to Forever.

Présentation de l'album

C'est le premier album enregistré par le groupe Return to Forever de Chick Corea en 1972. L'album Light as a Feather a été enregistré huit mois plus tard. Contrairement aux autres albums du groupe, celui-ci est diffusé par ECM et produit par Manfred Eicher. Il n'a pas été commercialisé aux États-Unis avant 1975.

La face B de l'album comprend un seul long titre "Sometime Ago - La Fiesta" mais trois parties distinctes: une première faite d'improvisations avec des solos de Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke et Joe Farrell à la flute, puis une seconde partie avec du chant par Flora Purim et la flute de Joe Farrell, la troisième partie "La Fiesta" est instrumentale sur un air flamenco avec Joe Farrell au saxophone soprano.
