Roger Blaizot

Roger Charles André Henri Blaizot (1895 - 1981) était un général français. Il assura de nombreux commandement des forces françaises en extrême Orient pendat la deuxième guerre mondiale et la guerre d'Indochine.

Biographie

Blaizot[1] servit en Indochine pendant les deux dernières années de la guerre[2] ayant été envoyé pour commander les Forces Françaises en Extrême Orient par Charles de Gaulle[3].

Insigne du CEFEO

Après le conflit, Blaizot conduisit une force d'environ cinquante hommes en Indochine dans le cadre d'une coopération entre la Force 136 du Special Operations Executive britannique et le gouvernement français pour s'assurer du maintien de l'Asie du Sud-Est dans le giron de la France[4]. Cette action avait été approuvée par Lord Mountbatten en 1943[5].

Blaizot devint ensuite commandant du CEFEO de 1948 à 1949[6], succédant à Jean-Étienne Valluy avant de céder ses responsabilités à Marcel Carpentier[7].
