Shin Sang-ok (신상옥) est un réalisateur et producteur sud-coréen né le 18 octobre 1926 à Chongjin et mort le 11 avril 2006 à Séoul.

Biographie

En 1978, Shin Sang-ok est kidnappé par la Corée du Nord sur les ordres de Kim Jong-il pour filmer des spots de propagande à la gloire du pays. Il reste captif pendant plusieurs années et retrouve en 1983 son ex-femme, l'actrice Choi Eun-hee, qui avait été kidnappée quelques mois avant lui. En 1986, ils participent à une convention à Vienne et en profitent pour fuir aux États-Unis où ils demandent l'asile politique[1],[2].
