Shazzan est une série d'animation américaine créée par Hanna-Barbera en 1967. Tout commence lorsque deux adolescents, Chuck et Nancy, trouvent dans une grotte un vieux coffre contenant un écrin ouvert, dans lequel se trouvent deux anneaux formant chacun la moitié d'un mot. Les deux jeunes gens enfilent alors les anneaux et appuient ceux-ci l'un contre l'autre afin de reconstituer le mot et prononcent celui-ci à voix haute: "Shazzam"! Apparaît alors un génie répondant à ce nom, pendant qu'ils sont transportés dans un mystérieux pays du Moyen-Orient. Le génie ne peut malheureusement pas les ramener chez eux avant qu'ils aient remis les anneaux à leur véritable propriétaire. Il leur offre un chameau volant, Kaboobie. Chaque fois que les jeunes gens auront besoin d'aide dans leur voyage, ils n'auront qu'à appeler le génie à la rescousse.
