The Biography Channel (ou simplement bio.) est une chaîne de télévision américaine spécialisée dans les biographies appartenant à A&E Television Networks. Elle a des déclinaisons en Allemagne, en Australie, au Canada, au Royaume-Uni, en Amérique latine et au Sud de l'Asie.
États-Unis
The Biography Channel a été lancé le 1er janvier 1999, basé sur la série Biography diffusée sur la chaîne A&E Network. Jusqu'en 2007, la chaîne diffusait aussi des séries non-biographiques telles que Murder She Wrote et Sherlock Holmes.
Canada
Au Canada, The Biography Channel est une chaîne de télévision spécialisée de catégorie A appartenant à Rogers Media.
Après avoir obtenu une licence auprès du CRTC en 2000[1], Rogers Broadcasting (40%), Shaw Communications (40%) et A&E Canada (20%) ont lancé le service The Biography Channel le 7 septembre 2001 consacré à des biographies actuelles et d'intérêt et à une programmation informative connexe. Au mois de juin 2006, Shaw Communications a vendu ses parts à Rogers Media, et A&E a aussi vendu ses parts à une date inconnue.
