This Magic Moment est une chanson composée par le parolier Doc Pomus et le pianiste Mort Shuman. Elle a d'abord été enregistrée par Ben E. King avec The Drifters et classée 16ème par le Billboard Hot 100 en 1960. Elle a été ensuite enregistrée par Jay & the Américains en 1969, a été classé 6ème, et reçu un disque d'or.
La chanson est reprise par Lou Reed en 1995 pour l'album hommage à Doc Pomus "Till the Night is Gone". David Lynch reprend cette version pour la BO de son film Lost Highway en 1997. Le morceau a également été repris, notamment, par le goupe de "horror punk" The Misfits, pour l'album Project 1950 .
