Bio-inspiration

La bio-inspiration est un changement de paradigme en ingénierie qui amène les ingénieurs à s'inspirer de la nature pour développer de nouveaux systèmes artificiels.

Il concerne tant le monde des végétaux que des animaux et champignons, ou des bactéries et virus, et génère déjà des applications dans des domaines aussi variés que l'aéronautique, la pharmacie, la marine, les matériaux composites, l'intelligence artificielle, ou encore les nanotechnologies.

La bio-inspiration semble être une traduction ou une adaptation française du terme biomimicry[1] (bio-mimétisme) inventé par un groupe de chercheurs en Amérique du Nord, dont Janine Benyus.
