Le Whoniverse, est la contraction des mots "Who" et "universe" (univers) afin de décrire l'univers de science fiction commun à la série Doctor Who et ses Spin-off et regroupe les séries Doctor Who, Torchwood et The Sarah Jane Adventures et leurs dérivés[1]. Ce terme désigne tous les personnages, lieux, objets, relations, races extraterrestres qui peuvent passer d'une série à une autre.
Usage courant
Utilisé à l'origine pour décrire uniquement la série Doctor Who, ses dérivés, mais aussi ses concepteurs, le terme signifie depuis 2005 et l'apparition des spin-off de la série "qui se passe à l'intérieur de l'univers de Doctor Who" et désigne un ensemble fictif, comme le Buffyverse.
